Testbeds
In order to support educators and improve efficacy of educational software products, LearnLaunch developed real world runways to test solutions.
Through MassNet, we implemented personalized edtech products in research testbeds alongside Boston public schools. As a response to the 2020 pandemic, we designed Building Blocks Workshops to provide a checklist for coming back from COVID, offering just-in-time support and long-term planning for implementation of innovative practices.
MassNET
The Massachusetts School Support Network Edtech Testbed (MASSNET) supported schools in moving toward blended and personalized learning, while building the evidence base for what works.
With this testbed, teams of teachers with supportive principals would identify a problem of practice, and LearnLaunch Institute would provide software and professional development appropriate to the team. MASSNET enabled teams to become smarter about how to deploy digital instructional tools in ways that reinforced and enriched student learning.
LearnLaunch Institute MassNET was one of seven edtech testbeds across the nation funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, known as The Learning Assembly.
The Learning Assembly built an evidence base regarding the implementation of personalized learning in urban schools, and its impact on teacher practice and student achievement.

Building Blocks Workshops
The Building Blocks Workshops offered just-in-time support and long-term planning for implementation of innovative practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our highly interactive workshops were designed for individuals, school teams, or district teams. Participants learned, reflected, and collaborated to develop actionable takeaways. We were also able to offer customized workshops and curated professional development series to districts or schools.
